Self-Compassion is the practice of extending compassion to one's self in instances of perceived inadequacy, failure, or general suffering. It is composed of three main components - self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness.
CPS fosters a partnership between adults and kids, engaging kids in solving problems that affect their lives. CPS aims to promote critical thinking, problem solving and social skills, as well as self-esteem. By using collaboration and communication, families often learn from one another and co-construct meaningful knowledge that is difficult to achieve individually.
Systemic Family Therapy views the family as an emotional unit. When systems thinking which evaluates the parts of a system in relation to the whole, is applied to families, it suggests behavior is both often informed by and inseparable from the functioning of one's family of origin.
IPScope is a systemic approach to family therapy that aims to highlight the ways in which we invite each other into recurrent patterns of interaction in our continuously changing relationships. It invites family members to learn from one another and develop greater awareness of the nature of these patterns.
ART works to reprogram the way distressing memories and images are stored in the brain so they no longer trigger strong physical and emotional reactions. The client is always in control of the ART session, with the therapist guiding the process. Importantly, clients do not have to talk about their traumas or difficult life experiences in therapy to achieve recovery. ART is a form of psychotherapy with roots in existing evidence-based therapies. This somatic approach begins with information acquired from the body's sensations and is shown to achieve benefits within 1-5 ninety minute sessions.
